Brown balloonlike creatures appeared above Copious' sea during the experience shared by Serilda and Eastcott. Each floated with eight tethers reaching down toward green areas in the ocean.

Uncertain behavior
The creatures seemed to Eastcott to feed on the green islands or patches below. This was his interpretation of their appearance; their biology and behavior were not established. Their presence contradicted the Science Commission's report of no life larger than microbes.[1]
