Access and refit
The shipyards' lock combined a mechanism embedded in the doors with a portable quantum device. Echo could not duplicate or defeat it. Helen worked to persuade Cylli to reopen the yards. After access was restored, the yards repaired Echo, installed a more capable sphere drive and armor, upgraded its weapons, and refitted the surviving scorpion.[1][2]
