Cylli's automated shipyards repaired and upgraded Echo and its surviving scorpion, restoring their ability to confront the hawks. The work transformed their propulsion, armament, armor, and supply of ammunition.
Capabilities
Echo received a sphere drive with three times the former energy capacity, rail guns firing at five times their former velocity, stronger deflector lasers, and energy-deflecting armor. The drive compensated for the condition linked to its temporal displacement. The scorpion gained its own sphere drive, stronger plasma cannons, armor, and stealth.[1]
Departure
Cylli replenished missiles and supplied hundreds of tons of rail-gun slugs. Echo's people departed for war while Helen remained with Cylli. The cylinder had become their home rather than merely a repair refuge.[1]
