Discovery and admission
Echo decrypts Brookes's private papers and finds that earlier equations lack the term. Brookes admits that simulations using the original equations produce unexpected acceleration at ninety-two percent of light speed, but claims he dismissed it as a mathematical effect beyond intended operating conditions.[1]
