Postwar reeducation aimed to undo the indoctrination imposed on Flaxen soldiers. United Earth offered it as an alternative to lifelong incarceration for those below the rank of major.

A different future
Hundreds of thousands of men on Earth and Venus were taught that their hatred had been fabricated and their lives constrained by deception. The program formed part of United Earth's decision to avoid further bloodshed after victory.[1]
