The Flaxen military wages war on United Earth and administers occupied territories, including forced-labor camps. Its officers enforce strict hierarchy and species-based laws.
Also recorded as: Flaxen armed forces
Hierarchy and discipline
A subordinate bows the head to a superior officer. Officers of colonel rank or higher may execute lower-ranking personnel summarily, determining the offense themselves. Fraternization of a sexual nature with humans is prohibited and may carry the death penalty.[1][3]
Occupation and war
The military fields transport ships, escort craft, aircraft, tanks, and ground forces. In conquered territories, it exploits prisoners fit for labor and murders those deemed unfit, calling these killings departures.[2][4]
Organization and display
Hundred-tank formations used yellow, white, and black markings that combined into the Flaxen flag when viewed from above. Commanders maintained reserves for years, favoring cautious advances until the final offensive committed them.[6]
Division and aftermath
The mental operation targeted commanders whose men followed them rather than the government. Afterward, tanks stopped and aircraft turned on forces continuing the offensive. On Venus, commanders did not carry out Claudius' order to burn the cities. After the occupation, lower-ranking soldiers chose reeducation.[6][7][8][9]
