Brookes used an exotic-metal mirror to strike Cylli from a position she could not directly target. The device reflected a rapidly changing sphere beam toward the inhabited part of the hull.
Also recorded as: Brookes' mirror
Indirect fire
The mirror had line of sight to both the hawk and Cylli. When Cylli fired at it, Brookes rotated it so that only its razor-thin edge faced her weapons. Cylli's reference to her reflection was her attempt to explain the indirect attack to Helen.[2]
