Major Damien Scenery is a Flaxen officer serving under Colonel Jaakobah Flint at Camp Skadi. He is openly hostile toward the camp’s human and mixed-ancestry prisoners.

Assault and punishment
Scenery strikes and kicks Serilda while she collects water, claiming that she has violated camp rules although daylight remains. Flint overrules him and threatens to execute him before imposing a week of latrine duty.[1]
Surveillance of Flint
Scenery watches Serilda's movements because Flint's apparent sexual relationship with a human hybrid could expose him to punishment, including death. The major hopes to use the prohibited fraternization against the colonel.[2]
Capture at home
Scenery awoke shackled to a chair in his kitchen, with six rifle dots on his chest. Serilda told him that marines had killed the camp's remaining guards. Megan and Serilda said they would allow him to face trial, but Megan first castrated him with his own combat knife.[4]
