Echo's Marines carried portable medical scanners and treatment devices capable of rapidly diagnosing and medicating prisoners in the field. They used them on the malnourished, infected inhabitants of hut seven.

Camp treatment
Diagnostic results streamed directly to Hastings's console. The Marines configured their devices and administered broad-spectrum antibiotics through the prisoners' skin in less than two minutes, then left food and water.[1]
