Adaptation and infection
Researchers transport samples to Mars, where organisms escape containment despite attempts to maintain their original cold conditions. In warmer surroundings they evolve rapidly, infecting William Walzack and later becoming airborne. The disease disrupts cognition, drives violent behavior, and usually kills within three weeks.[1]
