Lieutenant Lucinda Orcana is Echo’s chief tactical officer. She serves on Captain Kip Eastcott’s bridge crew.

First contact duties
Orcana deploys relay beacons around the Moon and directs the deflection-laser demonstration that convinces Cyrus Eppleston to consider negotiations. She later attends the conference with contemporary United Earth's leaders.[1][2]
African strike
Lucinda destroyed approximately two hundred tanks with plasma fire, then attacked barracks containing more than five thousand Flaxens and their reservoir with ten missiles. After the main attack she used deflection lasers against individual soldiers, with her pilot counting forty-two kills.[3]
Final mission
Lucinda was sent to destroy the central Flaxen communications transmitter above North America. An unknown arrow-shaped ship approached too late for a useful sensor warning and destroyed the armored scorpion with a violet beam. Eastcott later announced her death and that of Ensign Stuart Trew to the crew.[4][5]
