Range and intimacy
Megan observed that Serilda's influence reached Eastcott without the delays expected of light-speed communication. Eastcott and Megan described sharing Serilda's mind as an intimacy that ordinary description could not convey. Serilda said her abilities did not appear to work on machines.[1][2][4]
Combined minds
One intelligence operative could create a kind of hive mind among the others. With Serilda, the group directed experiences at twelve Flaxen military leaders. The work exhausted the operatives and left Serilda's body severely weakened.[3][4]
Further abilities and limits
Serilda broke a diamond enclosure and later searched distant space deliberately. She could not change Brookes as she had helped change the generals, explaining that he already saw alternatives and did not care. The horde's collective mind expelled her during her search.[5][6]
