Also recorded as: Destruction of Odin, Odin's ambush
Ambush and intervention
Echo approaches a contested station to deploy Marines. Odin's new stealth coating allows it to emerge undetected from Jupiter's atmosphere and batter Echo with railguns. Formidable arrives and defeats the Martian flagship, destroying it despite pleas from both its captain and AI.[1][2]
Lasting effects
Steve Thomas repeatedly relives the screams heard over the open channel, while Formidable privately mourns Odin. Echo remembers both his rescue and the grief his closest companion conceals.[1][2]
