Currie initially argues that United Earth could have exacted more from defeated Mars, but also reflects on the waste of lives in a war over politics and mineral resources. He warns Thomas against engaging the new drive before clearing the outer belt and joins in criticizing Avalon Brookes's conduct at the farewell ceremony.[1]
