Hastings led almost fifty Marines into the Flaxen weapons facility beneath Mount Aconcagua and destroyed it. The operation disrupted the infrasound weapons program and produced four Flaxen captives.
Also recorded as: Aconcagua raid, Andes raid
Entry and combat
Three shuttles landed a mile from the target at night. Echo falsified security-camera feeds and used tire heat signatures to infer a route through the facility. The Marines killed ten entrance guards silently, melted an opening, and breached the production room with gel. A firefight followed among machinery and conveyors.[1]
Demolition
After accepting the surrender of four survivors, Hastings ordered five timed devices planted. The Marines withdrew with their prisoners and Jenkins's body. The explosion shattered the mountain and collapsed its peak.[1]
